Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Exhibition in Portland - February 12
Tour the most comprehensive collection of Lewis and Clark Expedition artifacts, artwork and documents assembled since the Corps of Discovery returned to St. Louis in 1806. Pomona Anthropology Professor Jennifer Perry will speak after the tour.

The Last Liberal in Santa Barbara - February 24
The Last Liberal is a new comedy about a future America where liberals are an endangered species. Playwright Bob Potter '56 will speak with alumni following the performance.

Sisters in the Resistance on Campus - February 26
Based on interviews conducted by Professor Monique Saigal, Sisters in the Resistance follows the stories of courageous young French women in WWII. The play will be followed by a discussion with Resistance experts and survivors.

Rapson to head Kresge Foundation
Richard (Rip) Rapson '74 has been named president and CEO of The Kresge Foundation, a $2.9 billion national foundation that seeks to strengthen communities by strengthening nonprofits.


Religion Professor Receives National Award for Teaching

Zayn Kassam, associate professor and chair of religious studies at Pomona College, was honored with the American Academy of Religion’s 2005 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Astronomy Professor  Helps Solve 30-Year Space Mystery
Bryan Penprase, associate professor of astronomy and director of Pomona’s Brackett Observatory, is a co-author of an article in the journal Nature that explains the origins of very short gamma ray bursts.

Restaurateur Richard N. Frank '46 put some meat into the festivities surrounding the Tournament of Roses. 50 years ago, he began the tradition of the "Lawry's Beef Bowl," hosting the two competing Rose Bowl football teams at the famous Beverly Hills restaurant.
