Tour of Tutankhamun Photo Exhibit – August 4
Professor of Classics and History Ian Moyer will lead alumni on a private, after-hours tour of a special exhibit of one of the most famous archeological finds of all time
the tomb of Tutankhamunat the Oriental Institute in Chicago.

Alumni Day at the Races – August 19
Claremont Colleges alumni can ride into Del Mar for an afternoon of fun and sun at the races. A barbecue lunch and special reserved section in the infield are included along with lots of kid-friendly activities.

Getty Villa Tour – August 26
Join Professor of Art History and Director of the Pomona College Museum of Art Kathleen Howe in Malibu for a morning visit to the Getty Villa, a Southern California cultural landmark that was recently renovated and reopened.

Corison Winery – August 26
Alumni vintner Cathy Corison '75 invites you to her family-owned Napa Valley winery for an informal tour, tasting, and talk, followed by lunch with your fellow Pomona College alumni.


Frye Art Museum - September 7

Midge Bowman '55, Director of the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, will welcome alumni with a reception followed by a tour of the Henry Darger folk art exhibit. This is the only West Coast showing of this exhibition.

Klinkenborg Reading - September 12
An acclaimed author of such books as The Rural Life, The Last Fine Time and Making Hay, Verlyn Klinkenborg '74 will be in New York City to read and discuss one of his latest works.

Travel with Pomona
Join your fellow Sagehens on a gourmet wine tasting cruise on the San Francisco Bay, exploring the ecological diversity of Costa Rica, or on any of our other upcoming trips in 2007.

Sagehens set off on research adventures, from the arctic to the tropics.
One is heading to the arctic. The other is setting off for the tropics. But Pomona’s latest Watson Fellowship recipients, Megan Groth '06 and Laurel McFadden '06, share a sense of adventure that is sure to make for fascinating year-long overseas research trips.

LA Times features students' research on the mysteries of the grunion run.
Pomona students are pursuing serious science in the surf, studying whether people playing at the beach harm the eggs of grunion. The Times came along with a group of students as they conducted research during a grunion run.

Twelve graduates land Fulbright grants, breaking Pomona's record.

The prestigious Fulbright Fellowships will allow these members of the Class of 2006 to pursue research or teach around the globe in nations ranging from Russia to Thailand to Argentina.

Summer Reflections and Changes

New Ethnic Alumni Groups
Over the past year, Asian, Black and Latino alumni have begun to organize formal alumni groups for various purposes, including professional networking, supporting today's students and just having fun together. If you're interested in learning more about these groups, click on one of the links above for more information.
