Pomona College Comes to Rhode Island - August 12
Join President David Oxtoby and host Ron Fleming '63 for a
special
reception and talk with beloved Professor of English Emerita
Martha Andresen at the historic Bellevue House in Newport, RI.
Claremont Colleges Alumni Gatherings
* International Food and Music Festival, July 21 at Pitzer College,
features five bands and an international buffet.
* Summer BBQ Dinner, July 27 at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on Middle
Island in Deepwater Bay, with CMC Economics Chair Manfred Keil.
* Mixed Grill and Metal Sculpture, July 28 in Denver, includes dinner at
the new 23rd Avenue Sculpture Studio and Garden.
* Save the Date: Dead Sea Scrolls, September 29 in San Diego, featuring
a pre-exhibit lecture by CGU Professor Lori Anne Ferrell. Details to
follow.

will take place on Tuesday, September 18 in cities around the world.

Class of 2007 Boasts 24 Fulbright Fellows
Along with two Pomona College graduates from earlier class years, this
year's graduating class received a record-breaking number of
Fulbright
Fellowships for teaching and research around the globe, from
Niger to New Zealand.
Students Honor Five Professors for Excellence
in Teaching
Pomona College professors J. Raymond Buriel, Robert Gaines, Fredrick
Grieman, Jerry Irish, and David Menefee-Libey have been elected to
receive the
2007 Wig Distinguished Professor awards
for excellence in teaching, by a vote of students at the College. The
awards recognize exceptional teaching, concern for students and service
to the College and community.
