The Critical Inquiry Program is designed to assist incoming first
year students in making the transition to college-level work. These
“ID 1” seminars focus on developing critical thinking, reading, and
writing skills while exploring a broad range of relevant and diverse
topics. All incoming first year students are required to enroll in
an ID 1 seminar.
Critical Inquiry seminars are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday, 11:00
a.m. to 12:15 p.m. While individual preferences are taken into
account, students are assigned to ID 1 seminars to maintain limited
enrollment and an enriching experience for students in each of the
seminars.
Students are notified of their seminar assignments upon arrival on
campus. All seminar assignments are final.
