Thank you for your interest in Pomona College. The Admissions Committee is seeking applicants who bring energy and focus to their academic work and who, consequently, have performed well in their courses. We refer you to the Guide for International Applicants for more information about our admissions process and financial aid. The following are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Who May Apply?

Due to the constraints of international mail, only students who are enrolled at college or universities in the U.S. may apply as a transfer.

Note: If you are currently enrolled full time at a postsecondary institution, you must apply as a transfer applicant.

College Requirements

Students must spend a minimum of four semesters in full-time standing at the College.

Pomona's general education program is unique and somewhat complex. Please read the section on General Education on this website or in the Catalog for more information on graduation requirements. Applicants may wish to consult with our admissions deans to understand the requirements in more detail.

Students select a concentration by the end of the sophomore year, choosing from over 40 majors offered or by designing their own special concentration.

Admissions & Financial Aid

The Admissions Committee requires applicants to submit results from the SAT-I or ACT and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if English is not your native Language.

Pomona College provides financial aid for four freshman international students each year. All financial aid awarded is based on financial need; there are no "merit" scholarships available.

International transfer students are ineligible for any form of financial assistance.
