Awards Nominations
The Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2009

• The new Blaisdell Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni
whose contributions and achievements in their profession or community
mark them as illustrious persons even among the accomplished body of
Pomona alumni.
• The Alumni Distinguished Service Award pays tribute to an alumnus
or alumna in recognition of that person’s selfless commitment and
ongoing volunteer service to Pomona College.
• The Inspirational Young Alumni Award honors a graduate of the
last decade for his or her dedication, perseverance, and consistency in
following the inscription on the College Gates: “They only are loyal to this
college who departing bear their added riches in trust for mankind.”
Send names of nominees, with a brief supporting statement, to the

Update Your E-mail
Did you know that our most popular alumni events sell out before most
people even hear about them? That’s because alumni with e-mail hear
about events before the “snail mail” makes it to your home or office. Now,
updating your e-mail address with the College is as easy at 1–2–3: 1)
Go to www.pomona.edu/emailupdate. 2) Enter your name, class year and
e-mail address. 3) Click Submit. That’s it.
Meet the Alumni Board
Under the leadership of President Tom Minar ’85, the Alumni

Monica, Calif; Susanne Garvey ’74, a member-at-large from Alexandria,
Va; and John Graham ’86, a member-at-large from Claremont, Calif.
Meet all the board members online at www.pomona.edu/alumni (click on
“The Alumni Board”).
