Political Pomona
Earlier this year, Sociology Professor Jill Grigsby’s Survey Research Methods class interviewed a random sample of Pomona students about politics.
65% < Have voted in a local, state or national election
38% < Have worn a political button or displayed a sticker
79% < Discuss politics at least once a week
5% < Identify themselves as conservative or “slightly conservative”
62% < Identify themselves as liberal or “extremely liberal”
Interviews were conducted with 162 students, and the sampling error is plus or minus 8 percent.
