In Winter, Sagehens Flock Together
Where does a Sagehen go when the cold wind blows? To a Winter Break
Party. Where else? Students, parents and alumni gather across the
country for these get-togethers. Students get a snapshot of life after
Pomona, and alumni and parents hear about campus life today. Gatherings
will be held in the homes of alumni during January 2005 in the following
cities: Portland, Ore., Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Phoenix,
Chicago, New York and Washington, DC. Students who are going to be away
from their homes during the break are welcome to attend gatherings in
other cities. For more information, visit the
Alumni
Events Calendar or contact the Alumni Office at (800) 736-9908.
Alumni Weekend, April 28-May 1, 2005:
Sagehen Journalists, A Treasure Hunt and In-N-Out
“Headlines and Deadlines: A Conversation with Pomona’s Alumni
Journalists,” this year’s alumni symposium, will feature New York Times
Managing Editor Bill Keller ’70 and Chicago Tribune Columnist Mary
Schmich ’75. Dave Blum ’85, creator and founder of Dr. Clue Treasure
Hunts in San Francisco, will send Sagehens on a quest for clues. The
In-N-Out burger wagon will also be on campus. Sagehens who graduated in
classes ending in 0 or 5 are invited to make their hotel reservations
early. Classes of 1930-1980, call the Sheraton Fairplex Suites at (888)
627-8074. Classes of 1985-2000, call the Sheraton Ontario Airport at
(800) 582-2946. For more information, contact the Alumni Office at (909)
621-8110 or e-mail alumni@pomona.edu.
Alumni Directory Connects the Dots
The 2005 Pomona College Alumni Directory is in the works. With the most
up-to-date information on alumni, Sagehens can renew and reestablish
communication with classmates and friends around the world.
Questionnaires will be mailed to alumni in January. The directory will
include preferred contact information, as well as class year,
geographical
and occupational sections, and will be distributed in December 2005.
Update your alumni records.
