Making
a Difference, Sagehen-style
October is Make a Difference month, and Pomona Outreach to
the World is a chance to do just that, through any of a variety of service
opportunities being offered to Pomona graduates across the nation. Whether
you prefer to help build a home, plant trees, smile and laugh with children,
or feed the hungry, the Alumni Association is inviting you to get involved,
Sagehen-style, this year on October 25 and make a difference in your community
alongside fellow Pomona friends. For more information about Pomona Outreach
to the World on October 25 and how to get involved in your area, contact
the Alumni Office at (909) 621-8110, or visit the Alumni Events calendar
at www.pomona.edu/alumni.
How to Hire a Sagehen
Good help is hard to find, but its easier when you know where to
find Sagehens. This winter, the Pomona College Career Development Office
will help alumni employers find quality employees by participating in
the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium recruiting days in Chicago; Washington,
D.C.; Philadelphia; Boston; and New York. Employers will be able to interview
candidates from Pomona as well as other top colleges, without having to
travel to campuses. For information on how to participate, visit www.pomona.edu/cdo/employers/recruiting/national.shtml,
or email heather.brunst@pomona.edu

Alumni Board Welcomes New Members
In June the Alumni Board welcomed new members with an orientation and
planning retreat at the Seaver House on the Pomona campus. During the
weekend, the board considered ways to recruit volunteers for regional
communities, and how to better support Pomonas diverse alumni population
with educational programming and regional events. Andy Agle 91 handed
the presidency of the Association on to Juan Matute 63, and Taziwa
Chanaiwa 95 was named president-elect for the 200304 term.
