On-line Community is Coming
Looking for a lost friend? Need connections for your career search? Interested in a Pomona e-mail alias for e-mail forwarding? Your link to Internet tools is coming this winter. The Pomona Alumni On-line Community will debut as a part of the Alumni Association Web site at www.pomona.edu/alumni with an on-line directory, e-mail forwarding, and a personal homepage tool. Nominations for Young Alumni Award
The Inspirational Young Alumni Award is given annually to an alumnus or alumna who graduated in the last 10 years in recognition of their dedication, perseverance, and consistency in following the inscription on the Blaisdell Gates: "They only are loyal to this college who departing, bear their added riches in trust for mankind."
The Student-Alumni Relations Committee of the Pomona College Alumni Association is accepting nominations for the award for the year 2000. For profiles of past recipients, refer to recent summer issues of the Pomona College Magazine or visit the Alumni Association Web site at www.pomona.edu/alumni. Nominations may be sent to Taziwa Chanaiwa '95, assistant director of alumni relations, by December 1, 1999. Please send submissions by e-mail to taziwac@pomadm.pomona.edu or by mail to: The Alumni Office, The Seaver House, 305 N. College Ave., Claremont, CA 91711-6323. Note: The recipient must be able to travel to the campus and meet with students and alumni during the month of April 2000.
Alumni Week and Class Reunions
If you graduated in a year ending with 5 or 0, get geared up for Class Reunions--April 27-30, 2000. Return to campus to join us for tours of the Smith Campus Center, receptions, lectures, concerts, and many chances to reminisce with your classmates. A great success last year, Kids Camp will be offered again Friday and Saturday for alumni with children. Alumni Photos
We have always enjoyed receiving photographs from alumni of the exciting events in their lives. Now, we have another place to post them. Alumni may submit photos to be posted on the Alumni Association Web site at www.pomona.edu/alumni. Alumni may submit photos by mail to: The Alumni Office, The Seaver House, 305 N. College Ave., Claremont, CA 91711-6323, or by e-mail to alumni@pomadm.pomona.edu. Photos must be accompanied by a note giving permission to be posted on-line. Photographs received will also be considered for the magazine, but remember that the selection of photos for the magazine is based on photographic quality, general interest and space availability.
