Featured illustrator for this issue is Dugald Stermer, whose disturbing and powerful images appear on the cover as well as pages 16, 21 and 24. His illustrations have appeared on the cover of Time and in such publications as The New Yorker, Discover, Esquire and Rolling Stone. Among his more unusual credits is designing the medals for the 1984 Olympic Games. A resident of San Francisco, he is chair of the Illustration Department of the California College of Arts & Crafts.
