Best of the Bay Cruise
Oct. 23–27, 2006
Capture the essence and beauty of Northern California on this unique
small-ship cruise with Professor Emeritus of English Thomas Pinney,
author of two volumes of The History of Wine in America. Between
meals prepared by local master chefs, disembark for shore excursions in
Napa, Sausalito and Sonoma, featuring private tastings at the wineries
of Pomona College alumni vintners. A few cabins left at press time.

The Panama Canal and the Wonders of Costa Rica
January 6–13, 2007
Voyage through the legendary Panama Canal, hike the tropical rain forest
trails of Panama’s Isla Coiba and kayak along the wildlife-rich
coastlines of Costa Rica’s Golfo Dulce with Music Professor Katherine
Hagedorn. During the cruise through the world’s most beautiful settings,
witness wildlife as diverse as the landscape, including three-toed
sloths, iguanas and various species of monkeys, birds and tropical fish.

High Arctic Cruise
July 9–19, 2007
Experience the hauntingly beautiful landscape of the Arctic through the
glowing warmth of the midnight sun with Biology Professor Nina Karnovsky.
The archipelago of Svalbard, high above coastal Norway, is home to
glaciers and fjords, as well as polar bears, walrus, seals and reindeer.

Bike Trip from Vienna to Prague
July 1–14, 2007
Join Gary Kates, vice president and dean of the College, on a
two-wheeled journey across Eastern Europe. After exploring the Vienna,
pedal along the Danube River to the lush Czech Lake District. Then
follow the Vltava River through the remarkable Bohemian Forest and on to
Prague. Register by May 1, 2007.
