Life After Pomona

In May, the Class of 2006 went out into the world in full force—converging on the workplace, enrolling in graduate schools and accepting fellowships. Shortly before graduation, 321 of the 375 members of the class reported their plans on a survey conducted by the Career Development Office (CDO):

• Full-time employment (offers in hand)—35 percent (99)
• Graduate or professional school—23 percent (75)
• Fellowships—6 percent (19)
• Planning to seek employment—25 percent (93)
• Undecided at the time the survey was returned—11 percent (35)

• Median starting salaries for those with jobs:
Business—$55,000 (average signing bonus: $10,000)
Education—$35,000
Research—$30,600
Law & Government—$30,000
Nonprofit—$24,000
