Just as students build lasting bonds with classmates and
professors, Pomona gives parents some great ways to build
ties to the campus and to each other that endure even after
their students graduate. Whether it's speaking at a career
event, supporting the Parents Fund or helping to welcome new
families, the College is eager to make us part of the
community. And then there's the weather! (and no cramming
for finals).
-- Christie Weiner and Richard Paisner, P'08,
co-chairs of the Parents Committee
Career Development
Through the Career Development
Office, become a parent career adviser, participate in career day
panels, allow students to interview you about your
profession, invite students to shadow you for a day or support
an internship for a Pomona student.
Communications
Help us find effective ways to let parents know what's
happening on campus and in your hometowns.
Welcome new families
Host a welcome party for new Sagehen families. Or, if you
speak a second (or third) language, we could use you to
answer questions for non-English speaking parents during
Parents Orientation.
Support the Parents Fund
Make a gift and support the vital role that the
Parents Fund plays
in assuring the quality of a Pomona College education. In
2007-2008 alone, Pomona College students received
approximately $23 million in scholarships, more than half of
which came from unrestricted sources such as the Annual
Fund.
Contact Information
If you have questions or are ready to get involved, please
