Pomona College is located in Claremont, California, 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles (Google Map), and is easily accessible by car, plane, or rail. By Car
Except from Pasadena or the San Fernando Valley, you'll take Interstate 10 to Indian Hill Boulevard, Exit 47.From Orange County, take the Orange Freeway (Route 57) to I-10 east to the Indian Hill exit.From the Long Beach area, take the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605) or the Long Beach Freeway (I-710) to I-10 east to the Indian Hill exit.From Ontario airport or the Inland Empire, take I-10 west to the Indian Hill exit.
After exiting at Indian Hill Boulevard, drive north about one mile to 1st Street and turn right onto 1st. Take 1st to College Avenue and turn left. Proceed on College Avenue and turn right at first stop sign (Bonita Avenue). Follow Bonita Avenue to Sumner Hall (Admissions Office) parking lot.

From Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley, take the Foothill (210) Freeway east to Towne Avenue. Turn right onto Towne, traveling south until reaching Foothill Boulevard. Turn left onto Foothill. Travel east on Foothill to Indian Hill Boulevard, turn right, and proceed south eight blocks to 6th Street. Turn left onto 6th and travel four blocks to College Avenue. Turn right on College and take the first left onto 4th Street to the Sumner Hall (Admissions Office) parking lot.
By Plane
We recommend flying into Ontario International Airport (ONT), which is less crowded than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and closer to campus. Ontario is served by most major airlines and all major car rental agencies. A cab ride to Claremont takes 20 minutes and costs approximately $25.
If flying into LAX, you may take a commuter flight to Ontario, rent a car, or take a shuttle van to Claremont. Allow an hour and a half to two hours driving time during peak times.
Super Shuttle, a 24-hour express shuttle to Claremont, costs $43 from LAX and $20 from Ontario; additional passengers cost $9 each. For reservations, call (909) 428-6600.
There are also three other airports within a 45-mile radius of Claremont: Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, John Wayne Airport in Orange County (Santa Ana), and Long Beach Airport.
From Downtown Los Angeles by Rail
The Los Angeles area Metrolink serves the city of Claremont with a station two blocks from the campus. Take the San Bernardino line east from Los Angeles. Once at the Claremont Metrolink station, walk four blocks north on College Avenue to Bonita Avenue. Turn right and travel four blocks to the Sumner Hall (Admissions Office) parking lot.
