The Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station
The Claremont College’s 85-acre Bernard Field Station
contains grassland and riparian habitats, a former citrus orchard now
undergoing succession back to native vegetation, an artificial lake,
vernal pools, and one of the largest remaining parcels of Coastal Sage
Scrub in Los Angeles County. Located adjacent to the Claremont Colleges'
campuses, the BFS serves as an outdoor laboratory for Pomona courses
and research projects.
