Research Interests

Laura Hoopes’ lab studies the process of replicative aging in yeast. This process involves genomic instability and alteration of gene regulation, and the lab group is using 2D gels, microarray analysis, and real time PCR methods to detect the events, as well as genetic manipulations to try to prevent the aging process.
