      • the research question being asked and its significance,
      • the hypothesis being tested,
      • the predictions being used to test the hypothesis
    • evaluate
      • the appropriateness of the experimental design
      • the interpretation of the results
    • identify
      • an appropriate next step to take in this research
  4. identify a topic of current interest, develop a hypothesis in this area and design a research program to test this hypothesis
  5. present the results of a scientific experiment or a proposed experimental design clearly in standard scientific written and oral formats
