Quantitative Skill Center

Quantitative Skills, namely those skills related to empirical inquiry via mathematical, statistical, or computational data gathering and analysis, are increasingly important to understand and master - not only for Pomona College students - but for every informed citizen. The Quantitative Skills Center (QSC) was created in recognition that quantitative skill development (and effective application of those skills) is critical for success in science and math disciplines.

The QSC will offer a range of resources available to any Pomona College student seeking to enhance their quantitative skillset. We will work with the Dean of Students  to help provide one-on-one tutoring, coordinate with department Mentor programs, and offer workshops open to all students related to various topics designed to improve understanding, evaluation, and application of quantitative methods and principles.
So if you need to develop a study plan to master biology, are seeking help with an economics problem set, or are deciding whether or not to pursue a science or math degree, the QSC is here to equip you with the resources and skills you’ll need to be successful.

Announcements about the QSC’s workshops and events will be coming soon, but the Director of the center, Dr. Travis Brown, is available now for office hours. Please email him directly to set up a time to meet.
