Arriving on Campus
Residence Halls open for new students at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012
Returning students can start moving in at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012
What to Know
When arriving on campus, new students should go to Sumner Hall and the Office of Campus Life (adjacent to the Admissions Office.) You will have your picture taken and receive an ID card which will be usable for your four years at Pomona College.
This card will give you access to the residence halls, the mail room, the computer center and various other buildings on campus. It will be your meal card, library card, and if you add Claremont Cash, it can be used for laundry or purchases at the Coop Store or Huntley Bookstore.
At the check-in tables, located just outside of Sumner Hall, you will receive your room key, mailbox key and all check in materials. These materials will include:
- information regarding residence hall policies
- directions for setting up your voice mail
- emergency information
- campus resources
- information from the Housekeeping Department
Please note: ID cards and keys will only be given out to the student, not a relative. Also, please be aware that we cannot accommodate requests for access to student rooms prior to the scheduled check in time.
