How You Can Help Your Student

Whether you are near or far, the Career Development Office (CDO) welcomes and appreciates the support you can provide to a current or past Pomona College student. There are many opportunities to assist students with their future careers.

Pave the Way for Employment Opportunities

Consider hiring Pomona students and graduates for internships or full-time employment. The CDO has many opportunities to assist you with hiring Pomona students and graduates for internships or full-time employment in your company or organization. The CDO has many hiring resources to facilitate your requests. You can post a position on ClaremontConnect or participate in our recruiting or internship programs.

Become a Parent Career Advisor

Join the CDO's Pomona College Career Connections LinkedIn Group of volunteer alumni and parents willing to share career and graduate/professional school experiences, information, and advice with students and alumni.

Perform Practice Interviews

The CDO invites alumni, Sagehen family members, and employers to assist students by performing mock or practice interviews in an effort to help them better prepare for the real thing.  Practice interviews are scheduled upon student request through the CDO.

Participate in a Panel or Workshop

Each semester the CDO hosts a number of panels and workshops that include speakers from a wide variety of professions. Students greatly appreciate hearing from practicing professionals and we invite you to come to campus and share your expertise.

Job Shadowing or Hosting Students at Your Place of Employment

Through the CDO "Real World" Program, groups of up to 20 students visit Los Angeles area employers to learn more about these specific industries and organizations. Past excursions have included trips to Paramount Pictures, TWBA Chiat/Day advertising agency, Rhino Records Company, Allergan Pharmaceuticals, Disney Feature Animation, and the Los Angeles Times. Contact the CDO if you would like to host a Real World program at your organization.

Online Job Posting

For posting full and part-time job listings, the Career Development Office uses ClaremontConnect, our web-based recruiting and career information system powered by NACElink/Simplicity.  Students and alumni can search for full and part-time job opportunities posted on ClaremontConnect.  Employers choose this listing service specifically to target students and alumni of the Claremont Colleges.

If you or your organization would like to post a job or internship listing for students or alumni, click here to learn more about logging on to ClaremontConnect to post opportunities.
