Welcome from the Orientation Adventure Team
Orientation Adventure (OA) is Pomona's off-campus orientation program for incoming students. Many different trips are available for students of all interests and ambitions. While the activities of each trip differ, all participants will have the opportunity to meet classmates, learn about college life first-hand from student leaders, and discover California's rich recreational and community landscapes.
We have exciting trips planned this year, and whether you like water, mountains, beach, desert, or urban adventures, you're sure to find something to your liking!
Trips are led by Pomona students, with some being accompanied by faculty and staff. OA leaders are enthusiastic, responsible, and experienced students selected from a competitive applicant pool. All student leaders are certified in Adult CPR and First Aid by the Red Cross. Many also have Wilderness First Aid certification and some have worked as lifeguards or emergency medical technicians.
Orientation Adventure is coordinated by the Smith Campus Center. Our organizers are students and staff members skilled in wilderness travel and event management and many of our adventures utilize highly qualified guides and outfitters.
Detailed information about the program, the staff and trips (including trip selection hints), can be found in the Orientation Adventure website. You can also access it through the Admitted Students Portal on the Admissions Website at https://my.pomona.edu/ics/inatpomona and selecting the “1st-Year Trips/Orientation Adventure” link.
Still have questions? An OA coordinator is happy to answer them for you. The OA office is staffed part-time through May, so email is best.
