All coffee, tea and chai used by Dining Services is certified Fair Trade Organic. This ensures that these products are produced without the use of harmful chemicals and that the people cultivating these beverages are paid respectably and treated fairly.
- All our beans come from Green Mountain Coffee, a long-time leader in the sustainable coffee industry. They give 5% of their profits to charity, and employees are encouraged to volunteer each month.
- We offer 11 teas from Choice Organic Teas. They are strongly against the use of harmful chemicals in tea cultivation and travel the world to find tea plantations that meet their standards. Choice Organic Teas was the first exclusively organic tea crafter in the United States and the first in the country to introduce Fair Trade Certified teas.
- Third Street Chai ensures the freshest and fullest flavor by hand-milling whole organic spices and brewing only small batches in their microbrewery. Their facility is 100% wind powered and all of their ingredients are composted by local farmers. We’ve also started using their lemonade and ice tea in Catering!
- Fresh-brewed China Mist Iced Tea is offered at all three dining halls in China black and tropical pineapple. Both teas are Fair Trade Organic.
