Local and Organic Produce

Local and organic seasonal fruit station at Frank Hall

We are fortunate that in Southern California we can get farm-fresh, local produce year round.  We pay attention to what’s in season and try to buy from local and organic farmers as much as possible.  Buying local and organic means we are getting the freshest and healthiest produce possible.  We are proud of the relationships we have with many local farmers and often feature farmers in the dining halls.

  • We offer only local and/or organic whole fruit (apples, oranges, etc.) in all three of the dining halls.  We buy seasonally as much as possible, ideally from local and organic farms.  We are able to offer some of the freshest and most delicious fruit on campus because of our relationship with local farms. 
  • Throughout the year, we offer a variety of local and/or organic vegetables depending on what is in season.  Our chefs find creative ways to feature this special produce.
