Trails End Ranch is a 51 acre "ranch" located within Webb Canyon, Claremont, California.  The Ranch was built in 1916, used primarily as a hunting lodge for employees of Southern California Edison; previous owners used it as a private residence.  Currently, the property consists of a main house converted into a conference/meeting area and a barn used for academic field activiities.  The main house has a large central courtyard on the north side and a veranda on the south-facing side with views of the city. 

 

Available Rooms

The Library: This room is wood paneled with built-in bookcases and full windows on two sides.  The large oak table seats 12 people with space around the sides of the room for an additional eight chairs.  The Library contains a built-in 55" LED TV with access for laptop functions. 

 

 

The Great Room:  The central room to the house and the largest; wood paneled, opens onto the central courtyard and veranda.  The Great Room consists of two large oak tables, seating up to 36 people.  There is ample space on the sides of the room for up to 10 extra chairs.  The Great Room contains a built-in 80" LED TV with access for laptop functions. 

 

 

 

The Sun Room: A bright space with windows looking out onto the property, The Sun Room is equipped with a 55" LED TV with access for laptop functions.  The Sun Room renders ample space for break service and conversational expanse. 

 

 

 

 

The Club Room: A comfortable space decorated with a sofa and easy-chairs, The Club Room is conveniently located off of the central courtyard.  This room is perfect for breakout sessions, or an overall break service area. 

 

 

 

The Oak Room: Similar in size to the The Sunroom and The Library, the Oak Room will accomodate 12 people with generous room on the sides for several extra chairs.  This room is equipped with a 55" LED TV with access for laptop functions. 

 

 

 

 

The diagram of the ranch details the way each room is set.  Although additional chairs and folding tables can be added to the rooms as space will allow.  Existing tables cannot be removed from rooms or moved from room-to-room. 

 

 

 

Hospitality

Full-service catering is available.  The Ranch Menu offers a large variety for breaks, lunch, dinner meals, and add-ons for any kind of meeting or event.  For more information, please contact our Catering Office at (909) 607-9281.  The use of alcohol is discouraged.  Requests for this service will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  

Note: No outside food is allowed on the property.

Accessing the Ranch

The property is in a remote location and has a narrow one-lane private road with a secured gate.  Access must be monitored carefully and adhere to the following:

  • Pomona College encourages carpooling as much as possible.
  • Groups totaling less than 15 are required to contract for no more than six vehicles.
  • Groups totaling more than 15 will require contracting with a shuttle service to carpool up the road.
  • Due to road conditions, all events are required to end and the ranch vacated (including all cleanup) by sundown each day.  As well as scheduling arrangements for parking attendants and shuttle services.
