Final Exam Schedule - Spring 2011

Final examinations will be in the same rooms assigned for regular class work unless other arrangements are made with the Registrar's Office. In the event that another room is used, the instructor will announce the change.

To be counted as work completed in the course, all papers, reports, drawings, and other assigned material must be submitted to instructors by the course's regularly scheduled final exam time each semester, unless an earlier date has been specified by the instructor.

To read this schedule: M = Monday; T = Tuesday; W = Wednesday; R = Thursday; F = Friday. If the class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays (TR) at 1:15 p.m. during the spring semester, the final exam will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m.

Petitions for change of final examination dates must be submitted one week before classes end.

Petitions for Incomplete grades must be submitted one week before classes end. For situations that arise after that date, the deadline is the second Reading Day.

Reading Days. Thursday and Friday of the last week of classes each semester will be designated as Reading Days. Classes will be suspended but professors may hold study sessions to review previous coursework. No new material may be introduced at study sessions. The Wednesday prior to finals week will be designated the last day of classes.

Finals for Graduating Seniors. In the spring semester, graduating seniors take final examinations during the last week of regularly scheduled classes.

Completion of Work. To be counted as work completed in the course, all papers, reports, drawings, computer programs or projects, or other assigned exercises must be turned in to instructors by the course's regularly scheduled final exam time each semester, unless an earlier date has been specified by the instructor.

Final Examinations. Final examinations in all courses may be required at the option of instructors. If required, such examinations must also be taken by seniors in their final semester, although their final examinations need not be equivalent in size or length to those required of other students.

INSTRUCTORS MAY NOT CHANGE FINAL EXAMINATION DATES WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE ACADEMIC PROCEDURES COMMITTEE.  Examinations for individual students may not be given at other than the scheduled times or places except by consent of the Academic Procedures Committee. During the last five days of any semester, no final examinations shall be given, and no extra class meetings outside the normal class schedule may be scheduled. These restrictions do not apply to voluntary review sessions or to final examinations for seniors in their last semester.
