Students studying outside the United States may apply to Pomona using the same
forms as domestic first-year students. The
application deadlines for international students are also the same as
those for other first-year students if filed electronically. If filing by
mail, however, international students should submit all
application materials
two weeks prior to the appropriate deadline to ensure timely receipt by the
Office of Admissions.
The College welcomes cultural and linguistic diversity, but has no English
as a Second Language or other remedial programs for foreign students. An
information guide and preliminary application are sent to international
students who are currently attending an American high school or college.
Candidates for whom English is a second language must submit evidence of
fluency in English in addition to completing all regular admissions
requirements. Where a candidate’s fluency in English may be questioned, she or
he is advised to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language
(TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in addition to SAT-I and SAT-II results (where available).
Financial aid is provided to only a few new
international students for are foreign citizens each year. International
students who need financial aid may not apply under the Early Decision plans.
