Submitting additional information about yourself can give us a better idea about who you really are, and why you'd fit at Pomona. It is not required, but we're interested in learning as much about your extracurriculars as possible.

Please submit these materials with your application during the appropriate deadline for your decision.

Instructions

All supplements should be submitted using the website Slideroom. You can access Slideroom one of two ways:

Access Slideroom through the Common Application

  1. Choose "Yes" to the art supplement question in the Pomona College section of the "My Colleges" tab.
  2. A new section labeled Art Supplement will appear. Within this section you will find a link which will take you to Pomona's specific SlideRoom portal for accepting media.
  3. Login to your existing Slideroom account or create a new account.
  4. Once you log into Pomona's Slideroom portal, you will see a list of the various programs for which you can submit a supplement. Identify the correct program and click "begin." You may submit multiple program supplements from this page.
  5. You will be unable to submit your Slideroom supplement(s) until you submit the Common Application to Pomona College.

Access Slideroom Directly

  1. If you choose, you may access the Pomona College Slideroom portal directly instead of via the Common App link, at pomonacollege.slideroom.com.
  2. Login to your existing Slideroom account or create a new account. You will be prompted to connect your profile to your Common App account.
  3. Once you log into Pomona's Slideroom portal, you will see a list of the various programs for which you can submit a supplement. Identify the correct program and click "begin." You may submit multiple program supplements from this page.
  4. You will be unable to submit your Slideroom supplement(s) until you submit the Common Application to Pomona College.

Please note that although Common Application refers to only "arts" supplements, science and math supplements should also be submitted using SlideRoom.

Visual Arts Supplements

Be aware that Pomona only offers courses in Drawing, Painting, Digital Art & Electronic Media, Sculpture, and Photography & Digital Imaging.

Requirements

  1. A PDF resume or list summarizing your visual arts experience. You may also list any honors, awards, or special training outside of high school or college.
  2. 10-20 pieces of your best artwork. Videos should be no longer than five minutes.

You may also submit additional letters of recommendation as PDFs.

Theatre Supplements

For all applicants:

  • A PDF resume listing roles played, beginning with the most recent role
    1. Include year, character, play, author, group, and director
    2. You may also summarize other theatrical experience
    3. Describe additional drama courses and private study
    4. A personal statement describing your future plans is also encouraged

You may also submit additional letters of recommendation as PDFs.

For actors/performance students:

  • At least two auditions of contrasting styles, which must:
    • List the work in the recording
    • Not be more than two minutes each
    • Focus on the individual performance (monologues, etc.)
    • In group pieces, clearly state in the summary which performer you are

For technical/design students:

  • Submit a portfolio of work.

For playwrights:

  • Submit a writing sample.

Music Supplements

You must at least include:

  1. A PDF resume or list summarizing your music experience, including:
    • Specific instrument, voice, or composition experience
    • Years studied
    • Repertoire (solo and/or ensemble)
    • Awards received
  2. 10 minutes of solo performance demonstrating your musical ability in different styles
    • List your instrument/voice part, and work performed on the recording
    • You may include up to three solo instrument/vocal parts, but must clearly label these pieces as such
    • You may submit each piece as a separate file, or single recording
    • Please submit unprocessed samples (no reverb, auto-tuning, or other sound enhancements)
    • If you submit a video, make sure the audio is clear

Dance Supplements

Required:

  • A PDF resume or list summarizing your dance experience, including:
    • Years and technique(s) studied
    • Summer programs, clubs, performances, etc.
    • Repertoire (solo and/or ensemble)
    • Awards received

Optional:

  • Two minutes maximum of performance, studio, or rehearsal video
    • You may submit an original piece you or another dancer has choreographed, highlighting your uniqueness as a dancer
    • List the work(s) performed

Note: If you don't have access to video equipment, you will not be penalized. We will give you due consideration based on your written information.

Science and Mathematics Research Supplements

In addition to a detailed description (including methods and results) for each project, you must also submit:

  1. A detailed explanation of the nature of your project (group, independent, etc.) and description of your contributions
  2. The specific source (independent study, science fair, etc.) including funding sources, if applicable
  3. Project duration
  4. Research supervisor's name and relationship to you, if applicable
  5. Grades and comments received, if applicable

You are also strongly encouraged to include a letter of evaluation from your research mentor describing your work's quality. You may also submit related video, documents, or references from research supervisors.
