As
an Air Force dependent, Cynthia lived in several states during her childhood;
however, the longest period of time was spent in Chitose, in northern Japan. Her
Pomona semester abroad exposed her primarily to Spain, with side trips to
France. As an adult, she continued her love of travel by visiting countries such
as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Russia, and Ukraine.
After graduating from Pomona in 1975 with a degree in International Relations,
Cynthia began a career of more than 30 years in academic support programs,
holding positions ranging from Testing Coordinator (Chapman University) to
Associate Admissions Director (Pomona College). She currently is Director of the
Learning Center at Cal State, San Bernardino.
Though presently a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, Cynthia lived for several years
in Claremont where she was an active citizen in the city government. She served
as Co-Chair of the Committee for Human Relations, and was later appointed to the
Human Services Commission.
