Nancy
was born in Mississippi but moved to California when she started school. She
followed her older brother to Pomona College where she quickly immersed herself
into campus life. She played varsity volleyball, had a radio show on KSPC, was
elected dorm president, joined the Zeta Chi Sigma fraternity, and served as a
student athletic trainer. It was while taping ankles for the men’s basketball
team that she met her husband-to-be, Peter Osgood ’81.
Nancy majored in English at Pomona College, and studied abroad her junior year
at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Following graduation from Pomona,
she attended the Claremont School of Theology where she received her Masters in
religious education. Following a four-year stint working as director of
education in a church, Nancy returned to her Alma Mater in 1989 to join the
Alumni Office staff. She became alumni director in 1997 upon Lee Harlan’s ’51
retirement.
Nancy oversees the operations of the Pomona College Alumni Association. Her
primary focus is on the work of the Alumni Board, as well as Alumni Weekend. She
loves planning the Alumni Travel/Study programs that send our wonderful Pomona
faculty members around the world with groups of alumni, parents and friends of
the College. Nancy and Peter make their home in Claremont with their two sons,
Perry (14) and Connor (12) and two Labrador retrievers.
