Friday, May 16 – Sunday, May 18
It's never too early to mark your calendar for Commencement Weekend.
Pomona’s commencement activities traditionally take place
over the course of three days. Highlights include:
--
The Claremont Colleges Baccalaureate Service at 3:30
p.m. on Friday, May 16, in Bridges Hall of Music with
guest speaker Jerry Fowler, president of the Save Darfur
Coalition.
-- The Phi Beta Kappa Induction Ceremony on the
afternoon of Friday, May 16.
-- Class Day on Saturday, May 17, culminating in the
celebratory Evening of Music and Art, featuring the Glee
Club and the Senior Art Show in Bridges
Auditorium, with refreshments on the South Portico of Big
Bridges.
-- The Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 18, at
10:00 a.m. on Marston Quad (during the ceremony, a direct
audio/visual feed of the ceremony can be viewed on a large
screen in Bridges Hall of Music).
Since all of the Claremont Colleges have graduation on the
same weekend, accommodations for out-of-town guests are
sometimes scarce. It is best to make reservations early.
On this Website is a
directory of
hotels and motels within a 12-mile radius of the campus. To
make reservations, please deal directly with the hotels.
Although many people in many offices play a role in
Commencement Weekend, plans for the event are coordinated
through the President’s Office. If you have questions of any
sort, please get in touch with Dani Aurouze who will do her
best to provide answers. You can reach her in the
President’s Office at (909) 621-8131 or at
dani.aurouze@pomona.edu.
