Students who participate in study abroad will be
required to have a health exam.
You may wish to make an appointment with your home physician or the
Claremont University Consortium Student Health Service
now for a health exam and
immunizations that may be required for travel overseas. Although an exam
is not required of Applicants until after you accept your
offer and become a study abroad Participant, appointments
often fill quickly and you should plan ahead.
As a study abroad applicant you should begin to investigate
health and safety issues pertinent to the country in which
you hope to study. Please utilize the links below on
this webpage.
You should contact your home physician or the
Claremont University Consortium Student Health Service
immediately to make an appointment for a required health exam, if you have not
already done so, and for any
immunizations that may be required for travel overseas. Be aware that your program sponsor may also
require a completed medical form. You should contact your program sponsor
about this prior to your medical appointment to enable you to complete both forms, if
necessary, during one doctor's visit.
Note that the physician must have conducted your medical exam within one year
from the start date of your program and s/he should be someone to whom you are
not related. Some study abroad programs require a more recent medical
examination; contact your program sponsor for more information.
