With the Dean of the College, manages the faculty reappointment, tenure and promotion review
process and oversees the
recruitment of temporary faculty.
Works with the Faculty Personnel Committee, WASC Committee, and Emeriti Committee;
assists the Cabinet and Cabinet Agenda Committee. Supports the Wig Fund for Teaching
Committee of the Board of Trustees, overseeing the Wig
Distinguished Professorship awards as well as funds for
curriculum
development,
teaching innovation,
travel to teaching conferences,
faculty auditing, and other
teaching-related activities. Edits the
Faculty Handbook. Serves as liaison with ITS for
faculty computers and
administers the
Hahn Teaching with Technology grants.

The Dean of the College is responsible for the quality of the academic
program and for its continuing improvement. The Dean oversees faculty
personnel, actions including recruitment and reviews for reappointment
and promotion. This office also is in charge of supporting the faculty
and the departments/programs with needed personnel, office space,
and material resources. The Dean also works closely with the President
and the Vice-President for Development in designing new policies
and programs and in developing proposals to prospective donors.

Responsible for various institutional
surveys, questionnaires, and requests for information about faculty
and the academic program of the College. Monitors and analyzes the
faculty salary budget, prepares faculty contracts, and provides
appropriate offices with new hire information. Edits the
Department Chair and Program
Coordinator Handbook and the faculty section of the Pomona
College Catalog. Assists the Dean in faculty personnel matters. Also
staffs the Academic Affairs Committee and Honorary Degrees
Committee of the Board of Trustees and faculty meetings, and
provides general administrative support to the Dean's Office as
needed.

oversees internal programs with

Basin Institute.

Scholars Program. Administers the New Faculty Workshop and
Orientation as well as the
supplemental lecture fund. Diversity Officer and Harassment and Grievance Officer.
