South Africa - July 28 - August 9
Join Assistant Professor of Biology Nina Karnovsky for a family safari. You will visit private game reserves and experience up close encounters with African wildlife. Travelers will have an opportunity to participate in a junior ranger program. Your visit will include a tour of Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope and you will witness the beauty of the Garden Route. You will also have the opportunity to meet local families, play soccer with local kids and learn to play traditional African drums, traditional dances and songs.
Spain - May 25 - June 7, 2012: Sold Out!
Join professor Ken Wolf and guide Peter Watson on a walking tour of Spain. Your guides will lead you along the path of the pilgrimage to the tomb of St. James. Recently modern pilgrims have been rediscovering the wonders of the route; and not all for purely religious reasons. Hence the "history pilgrim" can walk back in time to experience first-hand a truly remarkable feature of medieval culture. The "geography pilgrim" can traverse the dramatic, ever-changing landscapes of northern Spain, greeting people in villages that time seems to have forgotten. The "culture pilgrim" can experience European art and architecture from all periods, especially the Romanesque. And the "gastronomy pilgrim" can sip and nibble his way through one of the most culinarily exciting corners of Europe. For those of you who are unsure what kind of pilgrim you are, you will know by the time we get to Compostela.
