About Student Calling
Three days each week, a dedicated group of students gathers in the restored
carriage house located just behind The Renwick House, home to the Office of
Annual Giving. These students have joined one of the most exciting
programs on Pomona's campus.
The Student Calling Program -- known on campus as
Star 47 -- began in the spring of 1998 and affords students an opportunity
to talk with alumni and parents about their Pomona experience. Student
Callers work tirelessly to share with alumni and
parent Sagehens recent campus news, and inform them of regional community
events. Their other mission? Garnering support for the Pomona College Annual Fund. Sagehen spirit and enthusiasm lend to their roles as Pomona College ambassadors,
as does their passion for increasing private support to advance the mission of
the College.
While Student Callers may have various backgrounds and interests -- not to
mention majors -- they are united in their commitment to excellence. The
Student Calling Program provides students unique ways in which to network with
alumni and parents. Such personal
connections enhance the overall Pomona student experience.
We hope the next time your phone rings that you will welcome the call,
engaging one of our callers in a conversation about why the College continues to
be a good investment for alumni support.
