Sophomore Year Career Planning Checklist:
· Declare your major.
· Continue to be involved in clubs and organizations.
· Do an internship in the fall or spring semester through PCIP. Prepare for and investigate summer internships early.
· Visit the CDO web and review the resume writing, CDO Site-ings, and other section.
· Identify skills that you want to improve, e.g. writing, presentation, artistic, etc.
· Start to talk with alumni through the Alumni Career Advisor Database.
· Update your resume.
· Start your summer job or internship search now.
· Explore fellowship opportunities.
· Challenge yourself by trying new courses or exploring different fields.
· Visit the CDO more often and talk with the staff; read the emails from the CDO.
· Attend CDO events that bring alumni to campus or go on a Real World trip to an organization in the Los Angeles area.
· Get a reference from your summer employer before your junior year.
· Spend several afternoons in the CDO library and explore the opportunities.
· Attend the Career Fair & Conference, Non-Profit Forums, & Teacher Career Fair.
