On-Campus Recruiting
Helpful Tips
-
Log into the system regularly as new interviews are posted every week.
Check your interview status daily so that you won't miss a pre-select
schedule deadline. Often, you have only a day or two before alternate
sign-ups begin.
-
If you inadvertently submit the wrong resume or cover letter, resubmit
it as soon as you realize your error. This will replace the first
submission. If you do it immediately and if the employer has not
accessed his/her schedule, he/she will not even know more than one resume
was submitted.
- Prepare for your interview by attending an interview workshop,
completing a practice interview, and researching the employer.
-
Each InterviewTRAK screen is fairly self-explanatory, but if you are experiencing
problems or have questions, please call the CDO at x18144 or stop by the
office at SCC 148. We will be happy to guide you through the Job &
Internship Campus
Recruiting Program.
Transportation Tips: Flexcar
If you do not own a car and are
interviewing on campus for organizations that may invite you for further
interviews, you may want to look into Flexcar. Flexcar is a car-sharing
company and is now available here in Claremont. Their low-emission,
fuel-efficient vehicles are conveniently available through Pomona College if you
meet their criteria and complete the enrollment process. Once you are a Flexcar
member, you may reserve the cars, paying just a simple hourly rate that includes
gas, insurance and maintenance. It’s far less expensive than owning and
operating a car, and much more convenient than renting.
To learn more and to see if you
qualify to enroll, visit the Flexcar webpage:

For Your Information: The
Solomon Amendment
The Solomon Amendment, a federal law,
mandates that educational institutions receiving federal funding (research
grants, etc) must fulfill military recruitment requests for access to campus and
for lists containing student recruiting information. This law allows personally
identifiable student information to be released to recruiters that would have
been denied them under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA
- p1-16). Information available for release under this law is limited to name,
address, telephone listing, date and place of birth, level of education,
academic major, and degree received.
