The Pomona College experience is made up of many important moments that shape students’ lives. Alumni, parents and friends of the College who give to the Annual Fund play an essential role in making such life-defining moments possible. Expanding the Annual Fund during the Daring Minds Campaign will allow us to jump-start our “Enhancing Teaching and Learning” and “Increasing Affordability” initiatives while we seek long-term funding for them. Annual Fund gifts will also provide critical, ongoing support for other fundamental priorities, including scholarships, faculty support, and academic and student life programs.
While gifts for endowment and capital projects are aimed at improving and ensuring the experience of future generations of Pomona students, gifts to the Annual Fund—including gifts of all sizes&mdashcombine to ensure an extraordinary experience for all of Pomona's students today.
Strengthening the Annual Fund through Campaign Pomona is essential to maintaining Pomona's place among the finest liberal arts colleges in America. In part, this means enlisting a larger base of leadership donors—known since 1937 as the Torchbearers. Today, Torchbearer gifts make up 80 percent of the Annual Fund. By making leadership-level gifts of $1,500 or more, they provide essential, exemplary support for the College’s core priorities, permitting the College to sustain an environment for learning that is truly second to none.
