The Torchbearers are the leadership donors whose gifts form the foundation of the Pomona College Annual Fund, providing essential support for the College's core priorities such as need-blind admissions, a world-class faculty and cutting edge facilities.
Since 1937, the year Pomona first recognized leaders of the College community as Torchbearers, the impact this group has had on the life of the College has been profound. Today, Torchbearers gifts make up 80% of the Annual Fund; last year, nearly 900 Torchbearers - alumni, parents and friends - led the effort to ensure Pomona's excellence with record-setting gifts totaling $3.5 million.
