President David Oxtoby and the College as a whole welcomed the class of 2016 with convocation exercises in Bridges Hall of Music on September 04, 2012.
This year, the keynote speaker was Professor Zayn Kassam, who discussed "Journeying." President David Oxtoby and Sarah Appelbaum '13, president of the Associated Students of Pomona College, also addressed the community. Convocation traditionally opens the academic year for first-year students and marks the conclusion of their Orientation Week.
