World-renowned Choral Conductor Martin
Neary Performs at Pomona College's Bridges Hall of Music |

Associate Professor of Music Donna M. Di Grazia will be
hitting the stage on February 1 with world-renowned choral
conductor Martin Neary and the Millennium Consort Singers,
which features 15 professional singers from the West Coast.
 The Friday evening performance, which is free and open to
the public, will focus on English choral classics by Henry,
Purcell and Vaughn Williams. Edward Murray will be the
accompanying organist. Many of the singers from the
Millennium Consort group have performed as soloists and
members of such choral ensembles as Chanticleer, the
American Bach Soloists, and the Los Angeles Opera.
Conductor Martin Neary was the organist and master of the
choristers at Westminster Abbey from 1988 to 1998, and the
organist and master of the music at Winchester Cathedral
from 1972 to 1987. His 1996 CD, Music for Queen Mary,
was nominated for a Grammy for Best Classical album, and
Neary was appointed a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian
Order by the Queen of England for his services at Princess
Diana’s funeral.
“I was truly thrilled to sing in the [Millennium Consort
Singers’] debut concert in Los Angeles last April, which was
offered to a sold-out audience at … St. Sophia’s Greek
Orthodox Cathedral,” says Professor Di Grazia. “I expect our
Pomona College concert to be equally exciting.”
