Pomona
College Theatre Presents "Big Love" |
 |
The Department of Theatre & Dance at Pomona College, Theatre
for the Claremont Colleges, will present Charles Mee’s
theatrical free-for-all Big Love. Performances will be held
March 30-April 1 at 8 p.m., and April 1-2, at 2 p.m., in the
Seaver Theatre (300 E. Bonita, Claremont).
Based on The Suppliants by Aeschylus, Mee updates the
ancient story of 50 brides who rebel against their arranged
marriages into a wild ride. The play is both a meditation on
the ancient themes of justice and revenge, and a celebration
of the enduring power of love. This play is NOT recommended
for children under 12 due to mature language and subject
matter.
Professor Betty Bernhard is directing the Pomona College
production. The scenery is by Pomona Professor James P.
Taylor. Costumes are by guest designer Angela Calin.
Lighting design is by Pomona alum and guest designer
Chrissie Munich. Sound design is by guest designer David
Mickey. Scripps College junior, Paige Aarniokosky is the
stage manager.
Ticket Prices are $10 general admission and $5 for seniors
and Claremont Colleges faculty, staff and students. For
further information, call the Pomona College Seaver Theatre
Box Office at (909) 621-8525 or 607-4375. Box Office hours
