Giving to the College

Peter Stanley Academic Quad

All gifts and pledges made to Pomona College between July 1, 2007 and December 31, 2015, will be part of Campaign Pomona. Gifts may be made in many different ways, including the following:

Outright Gifts may be made in the form of cash or securities.

Pledges allow Pomona donors to make a generous commitment to the campaign with a flexible payment schedule of up to five years. Gifts for endowment or capital needs may be scheduled in combination with an annual fund gift.

Gifts of Real Estate or Tangible Property are counted at the appraised market value on the date the property is transferred.

Life Insurance Policies that are fully funded and irrevocably assigned to Pomona will be credited on the cash surrender value.

Matching Gifts are available from many employers, matching the employee’s contribution.

Bequests to Pomona may be made through a will, trust or retirement plan. Bequests received during the campaign will be credited to this effort. To join Granite and Sagebrush, please use our on-line bequest form or send us an email or letter letting us know that Pomona has been included in your estate plan.

Types of Gifts

Annual Fund Gifts touch the lives of every Pomona student through scholarships, support for faculty, and funding for programs that bring faculty and students together. Strengthening the Annual Fund is essential to maintaining Pomona’s place among the finest liberal arts colleges in America.

Endowment Gifts provide lasting support for Pomona’s people and programs and play a key role in ensuring that Pomona can always be true to its promise to provide a world-class education to its students, regardless of their ability to pay. This campaign offers numerous naming opportunities for endowments to support student scholarships, faculty fellowships, student research and student internships and a range of programs and opportunities.

Capital Gifts fund the construction and renovation of up-to-date facilities that play a crucial role in the educational process. This campaign offers a range of naming opportunities for those who want to see their contribution transformed into spaces and equipment that will help educate the next generation of Pomona graduates.

Planned Gifts made through The Pomona Plan give donors the opportunity to make significant charitable contributions to the College while taking advantage of current tax incentives and meeting the future needs of their own families. Planned gifts include bequest provisions and a range of income-providing annuities and trusts.
