	Long Lineage Family Tree / The McLean-Olney Family When Benjamin Olney Anderson ’81 was a student at Pomona, he remembers eating at the dining hall named after his great grandmother, Mary McLean Olney, who was named an honorary trustee in 1949 and was honored for her efforts on behalf of female students. “The food tasted like it did anywhere else on campus,” says Anderson, with a chuckle. The former dining hall east of Harwood had been dedicated in 1950 and was only used for special events by the time Anderson was on campus. He also recalls President David Alexander calling him into his office to pose for a photo with the bust of his great, great grandfather, John Knox McLean, a founding trustee of the College. “I think it was neat to be at a College that had such long linkages to my family,” says Anderson.
