Sports Roundup

Softball (11-23 overall, 6-18 SCIAC)
Defeated Cal Lutheran for the first time in school history, with the team’s 11
wins the highest win total since 1997. First-year students MacKenzie Smith and
Catie Calderon were All-SCIAC.

Baseball (15-23 overall, 8-10 SCIAC)
Junior Alex Perkins was named SCIAC Athlete of the Week. First-year Brandon
Huerta batted .351 in conference. First-year Drew Hedman tied for 2nd in the
conference for homeruns and total bases.

Women’s Track & Field (1-6 overall, 1-6 SCIAC)
Pitzer first-year Maddie Kieselhorst, sophomore Rebecca Sedillo, junior Karen
Ring and senior Amy Rapp were named to the All-SCIAC Team.

Men’s Track & Field (4-3 overall, 4-3 SCIAC)
Junior Will Leer set a meet record in the mile and finished first at the Men’s
Indoor National Champion­ships and first in the 800- and 1,500-meter races at
SCIAC. Senior David Maas was third in the 800 and 1,500 meters at SCIAC. Senior
Crosby Freeman won the 5,000-meter at SCIAC and twice broke the school record in
the 10,000 meters, owning the best time in SCIAC DIII history. Leer, Freeman and
Junior Sean McCarron qualified for nationals.

Women’s Tennis (12-8 overall, 7-3 SCIAC)
Finishing second in the conference, the team qualified for NCAA Regionals.
First-year Becca Lange was named first-team All-SCIAC, nominated for the West
Region Rookie Player of the Year and qualified in singles and doubles for
nationals. First-year Jen Kaswick was named second-team All-SCIAC and qualified
in doubles for nationals. Junior Brittany Biebl was nominated for the West
Region Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award.

Men’s Tennis (8-12 overall, 5-5 SCIAC)
Junior Jeff Jablonski was named SCIAC Athlete of the Week and to the SCIAC
All-Conference Team. The No. 1 doubles team of Jablonski and Pitzer junior Neil
Patel recorded wins over the first and third ranked doubles teams in the
country.

Golf (5th place SCIAC)
Finished fifth in the conference but undefeated in dual matches. Pitzer
sophomore Chris Moreno-Hunt was named to the All-SCIAC Second Team.

Women’s Water Polo
(22-8 overall, 8-2 SCIAC)
Finished second in conference. Pitzer senior Lara Kruska and sophomore Laura
Condon were named first-team All-SCIAC. First-year Janelle Gyorffy was named
second-team All-SCIAC. Pitzer juniors Noelle Heise and Sarah Sinclair were
Honorable Mention All-Conference members.
