Claremont Village Event Welcomes Students With Jazz, Food and Fun
The First Annual College Student Welcome Night and Jazz at the Depot is set for Friday, Sept. 17 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Village. The evening is free and open to all Claremont Colleges students, faculty and staff, as well as the Claremont community. Free shuttle service will be provided beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Dartmouth and 12th streets and Mills and Ninth.
Village stores will stay open late, with more than 30 participating merchants offering free food, product samples and raffles. A list of participating stores and maps will be available at information tables at Shelton Park beginning at 6 p.m. Music at the Depot will be offered by local groups including Pomona College’s Boys Howdy and Knick-Knack Jazz of Claremont High School.
The event is sponsored by the Village Marketing Group, the Claremont Chamber of Commerce, the City of Claremont and Fairplex Pomona, which is providing free shuttle service. For additional information, contact the chamber offices at (909) 624-1681.
