Cross Country's Pat Mulcahy Named Coach of the Year; Junior Crosby Freeman Makes Strong Showing at Nationals

Men’s Cross Country Head Coach Pat Mulcahy has been named NCAA Division III West Region Coach of the Year. He guided the Sagehens to two consecutive titles in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and into the national rankings.

After winning their division title, the team went on to compete in the regionals, then made it to the national championships. Junior Crosby Freeman, pictured at right, finished in fifth place with a time of 24:48.8 at the Division III national championships in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Freeman’s fifth place finish is the best ever for a Sagehen runner. Pomona-Pitzer was the only California team to make it into the Division III national rankings for cross country.
