Pomona College Lecture on Gay Cuban Authors
Carlos Espinosa Domínguez, an expert on Cuban literature, cinema and culture, will speak about gay Cuban authors in the second half of the 20th century in his lecture “El Precio de Ser Diferente (The Price of Difference).” The lecture will be delivered in Spanish and translated into English.
It will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:15 p.m. in Pomona College’s Mason Hall Room 5 (550 N. Harvard Ave., Claremont), and will be immediately followed by a reception. For further information, call (909) 621-8943.
A professor of Spanish at Mississippi State University, Domínguez is on the advisory board of the review journal Encuentro de la Cultura Cubana. Domínguez has published numerous books, including El escenario y la memoria: testimonios de teatristas peruanos (2008); Virgilio Piñera en persona (2003); El peregrino en comarca ajena: panorama crítico de la literatura cubana del exilio (2001); Cercanía de Lezama Lima (1986) and Tres cineastas entrevistos (1983).
