Pomona College Grants Tenure to Seven Faculty, Promotes Nine from Associate to Full Professor

Effective July 1, 2009, Pomona College will promote the following faculty.

Receiving tenure and promotion to associate professor from the rank of assistant professor:

  • José Cartegena-Calderón, Romance languages and literatures
  • Oona Eisenstadt, religious studies
  • Jennifer Friedlander, art history
  • Stephanie Harves, linguistics and cognitive science
  • Jennifer Perry, anthropology
  • Slavi Slavov, economics
  • Charles Taylor, chemistry

In addition, Physical Education Professors Frank Pericolosi and Jennifer Scanlon were promoted from assistant to associate professor and received eight-year reappointments. (At Pomona College, professors in the Physical Education Department are on rolling contracts, not tenure track.)

Promoted from associate professor to full professor:

  • Laurie Cameron, theatre and dance
  • Donna Di Grazia, music
  • Pierre Englebert, politics
  • Eric Grosfils, geology
  • Kyoko Kurita, Asian languages and literatures (Japanese)
  • Hans Rindisbacher, German and Russian (German)
  • Len Seligman, biology
  • Jonathan Wright, biology
