Professor Char Miller Pens Editorial for the Rio Grande Guardian

Professor Char Miller has written an editorial for "The Texas Observer" titled "Voter Fraud." In the June 27 article, he discusses how national anxieties about undocumented workers and immigration--most notably, recent legislation in Arizona--have led to unnecessary legislation like Local Ordinance 5165 in Fremont, Nebraska. This small town of 25,000, Miller argues, has less than a five percent Hispanic population and the town has a less than five percent unemployment rate, half of the average U.S. rate. Says Miller: "Central to their fury is a fascinating, if bogus, accusation that these new residents of stealing jobs from
unemployed 'Americans.'"
